MEMBERSHIP

The Membership is open to qualified members of professional accountancy bodies recognised under the Accountants Act and/or the Companies Act. Fellows and Associates are designated as FICA and AICA respectively.

PROFESSIONAL STANDING

Member in good standing of The Institute of Company Accountants Singapore is a Professionally Qualified Person to discharge the functions of a Company Secretary in pursuant to Section 171 (1AA) (c) of the Companies Act (Chapter 50), a Prescribed Person under Section 6 of the Companies (Filing of Documents) (Amendment) Regulations 2003, a Prescribed Person under the Business Registration Act (Chapter 32) and a Prescribed Person under the Limited Liability Partnerships Regulations 2005.

ETHICS AND DISCIPLINE

All Members are to observe the standard of professional conduct pursuant to the Constitution. If members fail to do so they will be subject to disciplinary action, for example, reprimands to removal from the register of members, etc. depending on the severity of the misconduct. High level of technical competence is demanded as well as a commitment to continuing professional education.
