OBJECTIVES OF SACE
SACE was founded in 1979 with the following
objectives:
To encourage interest in and support for
the development of continuing education and training

To promote communication and cooperation among organisations concerned
with continuing education and training;
~
To serve as a centre of information on continuing education and training;
~
To encourage study, research and publication in the field of continuing
education and training;
~
To promote professional development in the field of continuing education
and training;
~
To convene national and international workshops, seminars and conferences
in continuing education and training; and
~
To maintain close relations with similar organisations

CODE OF ETHICS
The Adult Educator adheres to the laws and regulations governing the organising
of programmes.
The Adult Educator recognises the ability
of adults to learn and benefit from continuing education and strive to
provide the community with the opportunities to learn and achieve.
The Adult Educator believes that adults can
be self-directed learners and given the opportunity and guidance will
choose educational programmes well- suited to their needs.
The Adult Educator acknowledges that adults
bring to the educational setting a host of rich practical experiences
and have them incorporated into the facilitation process bringing about
productive learning environment for all.
The Adult Educator seeks and provides opportunities
for professional development and constantly updates himself/herself on
the research of adult learning styles and teaching methodologies
